When space is limited, achieving a fresh feel in an urban family home can be a challenge. This renovation creates a bright ground floor family kitchen from a once cold, dark and cramped space.

A simple side extension provides much needed additional floor area. The light that now floods the space complements the high level of workmanship of the handmade kitchen. Bespoke concealed finger-pull handles give the kitchen a unique touch. A replacement brick staircase leads to the terrace and garden above.

With some careful reconfiguring, we were able to increase the kitchen area by 45%. High levels of insulation, under floor heating, low maintenance and durable materials and the polyester powder coated thermally broken aluminium roof glazing are all essential components of this project. Even with a modest budget, careful modifications created a much-needed transformation to this Victorian end of terrace home.
